Delicious treats at Powderham Castle Food Festival
This fast-growing event attracts some of the finest food and drink producers in the South West to the grounds of a stunning castle. The stalls are set up in the beautiful deer filled parkland outside the castle, and they'll be a chance to browse the inside of the building too - making it a great day out. Additionally, the historic park is set on the River Exe, so the castle really does provide a stunning location for a celebration of glorious food.
There will be plenty of food to taste. From the estate itself comes venison and other game, beef, pork and lamb. There will even be River Exe shellfish which the castle owns the rights too. All these delicious elements will be turned into mouth-watering dishes by the many cooks and chefs demonstrating taking place too.
Powderham Food Festival is now in its seventh year and will be bigger and better than ever before with over 130 stalls selling artisan food, drink and hot treats as well as a select group of high-quality gifts and crafts.
Did you know that over 600 years of history can be discovered within the walls of this grand and luxurious family home? The castle was originally built in 1391 and has remained in the family to this day. It recently became home to the new Earl & Countess of Devon, the 28th generation to move in.
Whether you are staying with us over the Food Festival dates or any time of year, a trip to Powderham Castle is always worthwhile. If you'd like to arrange a room to enjoy a stay with us over the festival dates, do so with the Book Now button.
