Sidmouth Station, A Lifetime Ago
Sidmouth Museum is marking the 50th Anniversary of the closure of Sidmouth Station with a 3 day Model Railway, Railway Memorabilia and Photographic Exhibition at Kennaway House.
'Sidmouth Station - A Lifetime Ago' features a well known large working model of the terminus of the Branch Line that ran from Sidmouth Junction to Sidmouth in the summer of 1959 and 1960.
The Railway Memorabilia will include the sign from the Sidmouth Signal Box, many more Sidmouth items and Southern Railway pieces. A 3' model of a Schools Class Locomotive, the nameplate of the SIDMOUTH West Country Engine and much more will be on display.
The Photographic Exhibition covers 93 years of the Station, Trains, Passengers and those who worked at the Station, the Seafront of Sidmouth in Victorian and Edwardian times, and a look back at holiday snaps from times long gone by.
Tuesday and Wednesday: 10 am - 4 pm
Thursday: 10 am - 7 pm
Admission charge: £3 for Adults and £1.50 for Children
