Taking place on Tuesday 25th August, the ambitious Tour de Brend Hotels saw Aidan cycle approximately 180 miles across Devon and Cornwall, travelling between every hotel in the Brend Collection portfolio in a single day, as well as making a special stop at Children’s Hospice South West along the way.

The challenge began here at The Victoria Hotel in Sidmouth, where Aidan set off on his extraordinary journey before travelling across the South West. Colleagues from throughout the Brend Collection came together to welcome him and cheer him on as he reached each hotel.

His route took in The Belmont Hotel in Sidmouth, The Imperial Hotel, The Park Hotel, The Barnstaple Hotel and The Royal & Fortescue Hotel in Barnstaple, followed by Saunton Sands Hotel on the North Devon coast. From there, Aidan headed south into Cornwall, stopping at The Carlyon Bay Hotel before finally crossing the finish line at The Royal Duchy Hotel in Falmouth.

From the Devon coastline to the Cornish coast, the challenge tested Aidan’s endurance as he raced against the clock to complete all nine hotel stops within his 12-hour target.

The ride was organised in support of Children’s Hospice South West, Brend Collection’s chosen charity partner, which provides vital care and support to children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families across the South West.

Teams across the Brend Collection got behind the challenge, welcoming Aidan at each stop and helping to raise awareness and encourage donations throughout the day.

Area Director Matthew Raistrick said:

“We are incredibly proud of Aidan and what he has achieved. Cycling around 180 miles and visiting all nine of our hotels in just 12 hours was a huge challenge, and his determination throughout the day was fantastic to see.

“It was also wonderful to see our teams across Devon and Cornwall getting behind him at every hotel. Most importantly, Aidan’s challenge has helped raise awareness and funds for Children’s Hospice South West and the invaluable support they provide to local families.”

After months of preparation, countless miles of training and one extraordinary day on the road, Aidan crossed the finish line at The Royal Duchy Hotel in Falmouth, officially completing the Tour de Brend Hotels.

Everyone at The Victoria Hotel is immensely proud of Aidan and his achievement. We would like to thank everyone who welcomed and supported him along the route, donated to his fundraiser and helped make this incredible challenge possible.
